Charity Art Auction for the Qld Cancer Council

Council’s Pine Rivers Art Gallery in conjunction with The Coffee Club, Strathpine will showcase top local artworks from February 9 that will culminate in a Charity Art Auction for the Queensland Cancer Council, on Monday March 9.
Division 7 Councillor David Dwyer said to date several high-calibre local artworks had been donated by Amanda Russian, Sharon Jewell, Di Minnar and Ann O’Connor.

 “These pieces will be auctioned at the charity dinner, at the Coffee Club, at 326 Gympie Rd Strathpine, from 7pm,” Cr Dwyer said.
“Special guest speaker Jan Manton, the director of a very successful commercial art gallery in South Brisbane which specializes in contemporary artwork, will talk about investing in and collecting art.”
Cr Dwyer said guests would also receive a gift bag including samples from the Gallery Shop and special offers from The Coffee Club.
“The participating artists, who have donated their artworks to raise funds for the Queensland Cancer Council, all have works in the Moreton Bay Regional Council Art Collection,” he said.
Tickets are just $35 per person for a two course meal and coffee, with $7.50 per ticket going to the Queensland Cancer Council. 
Tickets can be purchased from the Pine Rivers Art Gallery, 199 Gympie Rd Strathpine, anytime Monday to Saturday between 10am and 4pm or phone 3480 6941.
