Council contributes to Healthy Waterways program May 2009

As part of its commitment to the environment, Moreton Bay Regional Council will provide continued financial support to the Healthy Waterways Partnership this financial year.

Federal Member for Dickson, Peter Dutton MP is encouraging all those with an interest in ageing and aged care to contact his office to receive a free ‘Ageing Information’ pack.

Region in national spotlight

The Moreton Bay region will receive national and international television exposure when SkyNews Business Channel 602 screens an interview with Mayor Allan Sutherland.
The 15-minute interview took place on Friday, March 20 and is scheduled to be broadcast in the coming weeks on a Monday night on the Moneymakers program at 8 pm.

Council part of fire training exercise at Mt Nebo

Mt Nebo was the scene for a mass bushfire training exercise this week, which involved Moreton Bay Regional Council and more than 60 people from emergency services and national parks and wildlife.
The training event, which simulated a large bushfire threatening Mt Nebo’s township, tested emergency response and evacuation procedures as well as incident management practices.

5800 make Clean Up day a huge success

Well over 5,800 volunteers at 103 sites helped make Moreton Bay Region’s first Clean Up Australia Day campaign a massive success.

Moreton Bay Regional Council has adjusted its water policy to help ratepayers who face exceptional circumstances.

EMU Teaches About Pets

Deception Bay children are the first in the region to learn about caring for their pets through RSPCA Qld’s Educational Mobile Unit (EMU).

The EMU will visit a host of schools and events over the next two years as part of Moreton Bay Regional Council’s program to encourage responsible pet ownership.

With the 2009 Queensland State Elections we bid farewell to the Electorate of Kurwongbah and embrace the newly created electorate of Pine Rivers. Our Pine Rivers Shire Council is no more, having been amalgamated with Redcliffe and Caboolture to form Moreton Bay Regional Council, but we in Dayboro can still claim to live in Pine Rivers – the Queensland electoral division.
