Meet George I. The first full blood Belted Galloway calf born at the Bella Vista Belted Galloway Stud at Mt. Samson. The breeders, Dr Bill and Janine De Maria, said that the breed started in the unforgiving hills of the Galloway area of south-west Scotland. The breed was around 400 years ago, starting from the crossing of the Galloway with the Dutch Laken elder.

Meanwhile, the unwanted herbage – crofton weed (Eupatorium adenophorum) in particular, put on a great spring flower display. Like its invasive little sister mistflower (Eriparium), it is very poisonous to horses, in which it can cause serious breathing problems

Ausgrid’s energy efficiency expert Paul Myors said there were simple steps you could take to stay cool without burning a hole in your pocket. “A four person household can cut up to 10% off their electricity bill and up to one tonne of CO2 from household emissions by planning ahead and cooling efficiently,” Mr Myors said.
