When we mention the word “Meditation” it used to conjure up images of hippies on a hillside with dirty feet and incense – but that is far from the reality of today’s modern reality of meditation. With today’s ever increasing pace and stress more and more people are turning to the benefits of meditation. Our daughter and her family came over to the SunshineState from the Land of the Long White Cloud for two weeks and Christmas. They didn’t see the sun once. But they went home to clear warm sunny days – certainly aberrant weather for Auckland too!
This is the first time since we have been on the Mountain that we have seen pink-eye or barber’s pole anaemia in young calves on their mothers – so be warned!

PNG was settled more than 30,000 years ago, although the first European sighting was made in 1512 by Portuguese explorers. It was named New Guinea by the Dutch explorers who followed. Missionaries and traders exerted a great influence, and today cultural heritage is largely preserved by small, independent villages. The country was initially divided between the Dutch, Germans and British. Australia took control of the British sector in 1905, and later captured the German sector during World War I.The country, fully independent since September 16, 1975, has a freely elected democratic government. Papua New Guinea became the 142nd member of the United Nations on October, 10, 1975 and is also a member of the British Commonwealth. Strong ties to Australia remain.

Darryl and wife Jan, founders of Canhelp Australia Wide were thrilled with the response from so many eager to learn from their years of experience in helping people overcome cancer and other health issues.
The following morning a meeting was also well attended by people who were willing to establish a group in Samford to learn more about Darryl’s program in order to help others as “Cancer Buddies”.
