AND THE QUILT WINNER IS ……
The Slab Hut, John Scott Park, Main Street, Samford. This quaint hut is the home of the Samford Art and Craft Association Inc. (a Non-Profit Assoc.). It is open 10.00am to 4.00pm daily with the exception of New Year, Good Friday, Anzac and Christmas days. Members display and sell hand made Arts and Crafts suitable as gifts for all occasions, and on any day two members are present to welcome visitors.

HERBS USED DIFFERENTLY May 2009
People tend to grow herbs in with their vegie patch or make a separate herb garden. Well, a way of getting an added bonus from your herbs, besides the fact you can eat them, is to use them in and particularly bordering your garden. There are mutterings of “El Nino” in the air, but so far our season remains brilliant. Pastures have recovered well from the beating they took in the long hard drought times, although the common ratstail grasses did enjoy a lift from the difficult conditions. Let’s hope that they begin to disappear again – and that their big brother just down the road doesn’t spread his wings too quickly.
