State Member for Pine Rivers, Nikki Boyd has helped launch the ‘Just let it go’ campaign as part of the #onepunchcankill community awareness program.

Ms Boyd paid tribute to the family of the late Bruce Steensen, whose sudden death from an unprovoked punch and final words ‘Just let it go’ have been the catalyst for the campaign.

“Bruce’s parents Gloria and John, through their own very tragic personal loss are working to make society a better place through this campaign,”

“His final words should act as a message to everyone when they go for a night out – it’s ok to walk away and go home to your family and friends.

“Families like the Steensens should not have to experience these tragedies and this is why our Government is committed to working with the community to address the issue of alcohol fuelled violence.”
