Aug2014_U3A PINE RIVERS NEWS

It was a slow and very cold 5degree start but hotted up later and was a hugely successful day with us selling out.  Without exception all the volunteers said they had a great time and we are all keen to repeat it.  Special thanks go to Bunnings for allowing these fundraising events.
 

U3A Pine Rivers will be holding their regular monthly social and information meeting on Friday 15th August 2014 gathering at 9.30 for 10.00am start.  The event will be at Bray Hall, Cnr Cooke and O’Loan Streets, Petrie.  This is a great opportunity to socialize, meet other active members as well as catch up on the latest offerings, find out more about card and jewellery making, board games, relaxation and art.  Enjoy a great morning tea and a chat with friends, collect your theatre tickets or book for bus trips.

 

Entry is FREE and visitors and prospective members are welcome.  Light refreshments are provided for a gold coin donation.  Support us by purchasing raffle tickets at the door. For further information please phone 3321 0681.  

We are also manning a stand at the Dickson’s Seniors Expo on Mon/Tues 11/12th August so if you are wanting to find out what our U3A is all about then call and see us at the Expo at the Community Centre, Mecklem St, Strathpine.

U3A Pine Rivers Inc wishes to acknowledge the Moreton Bay Regional Council for their continued support through the Community Grants programme, from which our organisation was granted $5000.  This will be go towards establishing a centralised office and classrooms.

This grant was confirmed in a letter received on 3rd July from Councillor Mick Gillam of Moreton Bay Regional Council.

U3A Pine Rivers has an ever-increasing membership area and has been receiving  positive support from Council in their endeavours to establish a more centralised meeting venue.
