AUG2010 Phil Smith backs Chaplaincy

Brisbane media personality Phil Smith will be part of this year’s Pine Rivers Chaplaincy Support Breakfast on August 24.
Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland said ABC Radio’s Saturday morning presenter would be the event’s guest speaker.
“It’s great to have Phil support our breakfast which raises money for the school chaplaincy program in Pine Rivers district,” Mayor Sutherland said.
“Scripture Union Queensland’s school chaplaincy program is one that can make a huge difference in the lives of our children, which is why council is continuing the tradition of hosting three fund-raising breakfasts throughout the region this year.
“Tickets are $25 a head and can be purchased through council’s website at www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/chaplaincy at our customer service centres or by ringing council on 3205 0555 this July and August.
“Your ticket price covers a hot breakfast and entertainment as well as the opportunity to take part in a fund-raising auction.
“The magnificent thing about these breakfasts is that everyone provides goods and services for free, which means that all money raised goes straight to the chaplaincy program.
“And because they are on early, participants get to start work for the day knowing they’ve already done something good for youth in the region.”
Mayor Sutherland said ticket numbers would be limited and urged those wanting to attend to get in early to secure a place.
The combined Moreton Bay Regional Council support breakfasts last year raised $55,568 for 51 schools across the region.
The Pine Rivers Chaplaincy Support Breakfast will be held at North Leagues & Services Club, 1347 Anzac Avenue, Kallangur, from 6.30am to 8.30am on Tuesday, August 24.  Similar breakfasts will be held in Redcliffe on October 8 and in Caboolture district on November 5.
