AUG2010 DAGY offers song writing workshops for teens
DAGY (Dayboro Action Group for Youth) is a newly formed community group that is striving to organise activities for teenagers within our local area.
Dayboro is a fantastic place to live, currently hosting many events and community organisations. However we feel that few are geared specifically for the teen age group, so we are hoping to fill that void.
To date, DAGY has hosted an Australia Day Pool Party, aided the Dayboro Police in it’s BMX Day and has recently received funding to hold 2 song writing workshops during the September school holidays.
The workshops will be held over a 5 day period, commencing Mon 20th Sept & Mon 27th Sept, at a cost of $20 per person, and are open to high school students living in Dayboro or surrounding locations. We are offering 5 places in each of these workshops, and you do not have to be able to play an instrument or sing like a virtuoso to participate. According to instructor, Wendy Murray (a local musician and singing teacher), anybody can write a song. If you would like to participate in these workshops, application forms can be collected from Rendezvous at Dayboro on Williams Street.
DAGY would also like to hold further events such as movie nights, dances and a youth activities day. If you would like to join our group, please contact Jacqui Hansson on 3425 2249. Otherwise, keep posted on our activities by looking up Dayboro Youth on Facebook.
