August was a slow month for Lions, as many members were away on holidays,

MOVIE NIGHT

Dayboro Lions Community Movie for October 18th is "Son Of Rambow" a delightful movie of childhood adventure.

MEETINGS

All are welcome to attend the Dayboro Lions /Samford Lions combined dinner meeting on Thurs 16th October, 7pm at The Homestead Restaurant, Samford.  Bruce Unwin, the District Governor, will be presenting District Governor Awards on the night.  The cost will be $20 for a meal which consists of entree, main meal, dessert, and tea or coffee.  Please phone Anita 0421 521 448 by Mon 13th October to book. 

This replaces the normal 4th Monday open meeting which is usually held at the footy club.

LIONS IN YOUR COMMUNITY

The Dayboro Lions PA System was used in the Dayboro Players’ production;  for the opening of the Dayboro Rural Fire Brigade Shed on 23rd August;  and also on the Dayboro Historical Society’s 75 and over "Back To School Day" on 14th September.

The vinyl cutter has also been in use supporting local community groups.

Dayboro Lions are renewing the "Welcome to Dayboro" services boards which are on the two approach roads.  The format and inclusions on these boards has not yet been finalised, but if you want your Dayboro club or organisation included, please phone Ian on 3425 1570 or email dayboro.lions@gmail.com

There is currently ongoing dialogue with other parties regarding the Dayboro House Fund.  If the original dream cannot be realised, then the monies previously raised will be considered towards support for the elderly in other ways.
