MOVIES: No movie in December, but January 17th, we are endeavouring to screen “AUSTRALIA” the Baz Luhrmann movie with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman. This movie will appeal to an older age group than our usual. This is the week leading up to Australia Day, and we would urge all to dress up in an Australian get-up. There will be prizes for the best dressed.. SO… come and take part! Samsonvale "Carols under the Big Tree" will be on Sunday 14th December. Look out for the signs, and come and enjoy a picnic, meet Santa, and sing your heart out in the middle of a paddock at this unique bucolic event.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO: Lions have been active with P.A. system support for Narangba Lions Carnival, Dayboro School’s Melbourne Cup Day, as well as having made and provided posters for Breast Cancer Awareness Week for the hospital.
On January 19th we will have an open public meeting where Ian and Sue Flinders will present an illustrated presentation of their trip to Cape York.
Book for a meal $10 – $12, 7:15pm, or just come for the talk at 8:00pm. No charge. Bar open. Held at the Dayboro Footy Club.
