March2104_SEEKING MISS SHOWGIRL AND A RURAL AMBASSADOR
After the wonderful support received by the Dayboro Show Society in 2013, we have expanded the quest this year to include Miss Showgirl, Miss Junior Showgirl and Rural Ambassador.
Miss Showgirl, sponsored by Queensland Country Life, is open to single women between the ages of 18 and 28 while the Rural Ambassador, sponsored by Marsh Insurance, can be male or female aged between 20 and 30. Miss Junior Showgirl is a local competition open to girls aged 15 to 17 interested in getting involved in the show movement.
The six participants last year were a great example of the enthusiastic, well presented young women who are out there in our community. This is not a beauty contest. Personality, presentation, confidence, general knowledge and an understanding of the aims of the show movement in the local community are all factors in the success of young people. There is no nomination fee to enter.
Kirsten Costelloe, the 2013 local winner, and Nikita Adcock, 2013 runner-up, had a great time representing Dayboro at the QCAS Next Generation Youth Conference in January this year.
Judging is by invited judges from outside the community. This year’s judging event will be a garden party at a local property on the 31 May. Entry will be open to the public this year.
