logo_police.gifSTORM SEASON
Are you ready for the storm season?  We all know what the next 4-5 months of weather can bring to our district.  Dayboro police are urging all residents (especially those who are in areas of our district that are prone to flooding) to prepare for extreme weather should another significant weather event occur in South East QLD.  This means ensure you and your family are prepared for a disruption in electricity and water supply and becoming isolated in your house due to road damage caused by flooding.  Please ensure you take all pre-cautions you feel necessary as a result of what occurred in January this year.  For more information please visit www.stormwise.com.au

UN-SAFE OVERTAKING
Dayboro police have received regular complaints about impatient motorists driving without care and attention on Dayboro Rd, Mt Mee Rd and Mt Samson Rd especially in peak hour.  It has been reported that some motorists are following other vehicles too closely, speeding and overtaking vehicles on double lines or not when it is safe to do so.  Not only do all of these driver actions relate to offences being committed but more importantly they are incredibly dangerous.  Please be patient on our roads and ensure your actions do not result in the death or serious injury of another person, a member of your family or yourself.  Remember speed kills.
DAYBORO AND DISTRICTS DISASTER MANAGEMENT PLAN
The Dayboro emergency services and some very dedicated local residents have formulated a Dayboro and Districts Disaster Management Plan to assist everyone should a disaster occur again in our district.  This document is still being drafted and will be a ‘living and dynamic’ document that will continue to be updated in the future.  It contains local information about fires and floods, possible evacuation centres and contact numbers to assist the community in times of need.  The information contained in this document can be found at www.dayborovalley.com.au.  Dayboro police would like to speak to anyone who would like to become a co-ordinator for their neighbourhood/area or has specific skills or equipment that could be utilised in times of disaster.  Please contact Ken or I if you would like to help or have any suggestions for the Plan.  A special thanks to Greg LINCOLN and Gavin QUINN for their time and input regarding the Plan.
Stay safe (and cool)
