LITTLE FARMERS AND ‘FIRIES’ WORKING TOGETHER
Prior to the ‘Open Day’ at Dayboro Little Farmers on Saturday, 29 August 2009, Amanda Kinniburgh (the Centre Director) approached members of Dayboro and District Rural Fire Brigade with a request to man a static display of one of our fire appliances and our protective clothing on the day, to show the Dads and Mums – and the children who attend the Centre.
Volunteer Rural Firefighters John Flewell-Smith, Greg Lincoln and Daniel Futcher agreed to man the display. Amanda and her team ran a huge raffle on the day, with prizes donated by the Centre staff, parents and members of the local community – the proceeds (which amounted to $400.00) being donated to Dayboro and District Rural Fire Brigade (DDRFB).
The staff arranged to make the presentation on Monday afternoon, 21 September.
On hand to receive the donation on behalf of DDRFB was Firefighter Daniel Futcher – Pictured with Lisa Kuhn (Pre-Kindy Room Group Leader) on the left and Amanda Kinniburgh (Centre Director) on the right.
Dayboro and District Rural Fire Brigade would like to thank Dayboro Little Farmers, Amanda, Lisa and their staff for their very generous donation – I can assure everyone that it will be put to good use.
