Clare Ciranni (winner), her daughter ELaura, and grand-daughter Tyla-Rose with the maker of this Quilt, Pat Coates (member of The Slab Hut Art & Craft Association Inc.Clare Ciranni from Dayboro was the lucky winner of the Quilt raffled recently at The Slab Hut, Samford. Clare is a regular visitor to "The Hut" and is proud to say she buys all her gifts there. A quilt that she purchased in the past now makes its home in North Queensland, and a little girls dress is on its way to a Bolivian orphanage. She also admitted that the quilt she won was a lovely Birthday Gift as she celebrated her birthday only the day before learning of her win.
The quilt was one of approximately 18, made by the Quilters and other Members of the Samford Art and Craft Association Inc. which has its home at The Slab Hut. This is an ongoing Community Service Project adopted by the Non-Profit Association. The quilts are donated to charities and other worthy causes. The Red Cross Bushfire Appeal was the beneficiary of this quilt. Another was given to the Holly Mason family to use in their efforts to raise money for Holly’s rehabilitation after a terrible accident. Holly and her family are residents of Samford.
