DAYBORO BOWLS CLUB NEWS Dec08

November Financial Day was generously sponsored by Tony and Suzie Compton, Ray White Samford.  Unfortunately they were not able to attend on the day to present the prizes, so it was up to our own President Jackie to present her team with the winning prize.

Cynthia Shields, Pine Rivers team were runners-up.  Spiders won by Lorraine, Samford and Cynthia, Pine Rivers.  Our raffle was a Christmas Cake donated by Joan Clark our Honourary Member from Kallangur and was won by Linda from Gaythorne.  It was the first time we had a team from Gaythorne and we are hoping they will be back in 2009.  Margaret, Kallangur won our second raffle donated by Dawn Heathwood.  Fruit and Veg trays went to Rose and Audrey (sisters) from Kallangur.  These days are full of fun and friendship and we usually have a full green, with visitors from surrounding Clubs thanks to our hard-working Patroness Edna.
Break-up our last day will be on 3 December for anyone wanting to come and try bowls.  Morning tea at 9a.m. m.  Play from 9.30.  We commence again on 4th February 2009.  Members will be having their last day on 10th December and then the green will be closed for 8 weeks for upkeep.
Friday Night Dinners thanks to all those who have supported us over the year.  The last one for the year is 28 November. They will recommence on Friday, 23 January 2009. Unfortunately the prices have to increase by $2 for the main and 50 cents for the Children’s.
