JOY LEISHMAN Making it Work
Positive People, Positive Communities,
Positive Campaign
Joy Leishman has more than just good intentions for the new Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC). She has the experience, energy and enthusiasm to make things work.
To Cr Leishman the Moreton Bay Region is the place she grew up, married her husband, raised and educated her children, built a family business and welcomed in a second generation. She certainly has a vested interest in ensuring the joining of our three communities occurs with the support of a dedicated, determined and unified council working as one for the people.
"The amalgamation of Pine Rivers, Redcliffe and Caboolture can be, and should be, a positive and smooth transition for all residents and businesses," Cr Leishman said. "Pooling our resources, connecting our people and places, and proactively engaging all sectors of our vibrant communities is the way forward for the Moreton Bay Region. I am committed to the needs of every stakeholder and I am committed to making this work.”
Cr Leishman offers politically independent leadership to the people of the Moreton Bay Region, with the promise to remain open and accountable about the intentions, projects and plans of the new council.
Cr Leishman will seize the opportunity of the region’s unification to explore new methods of advancement for each area. She will face the task head-on, with a clear list of achievable and relevant goals. "Under my leadership the new MBRC will seek the funding for necessary infrastructure from state and federal governments,” Cr Leishman.
"The MBRC will continue to celebrate the unique character of each area, and harness the power of our communities’ common ideals to unite as one.”
"By understanding the expectations of the people of Pine Rivers, Redcliffe and Caboolture, and recognising the specific needs of each community, together we can succeed in Making it Work for MBRC."
