WHAT DOES THE RESPITE SERVICE OFFER
Established in 1990, the Dayboro branch of The Pine Rivers Respite Service continues to meet each Wednesday between 9.00am and 2.30pm, at the CWA Hall, Delaney Street in response to the needs of our socially isolated folk living within the Dayboro community.
The Respite Service is funded under the Home and Community Care Service (HACC) which provide basic support services to frail older people and people with a disability so they can continue to live in their community.
Our respite service at Dayboro encourages participation in a friendly and safe environment designed to develop, maintain or support the capacity for independent living and social interaction.
A typical day involves transport (to and from home), a choice of various activities to suit your interests, morning tea and lunch.
To add variety, bus trips, lunch outings and concerts are also included in the respite program.
Also, the respite service offers podiatry every six weeks to HACC eligible people living in the Dayboro community.
