THINK DISTRICT

WHEN IT COMES TO COUNCIL BUSINESS
The Moreton Bay Regional Council Local Transition Committee is urging residents, businesses and community groups to ‘think district’ when it comes to conducting Council business post-amalgamation.
LTC chair, Cr Allan Sutherland, said people in Caboolture, Pine Rivers and Redcliffe should continue to deal with staff at their existing local Council office from March 17 to access the services they have come to value and expect.

“The three Councils have had only six months to plan for amalgamation.  Therefore the LTC’s focus has been on ensuring customers in each existing Council area or district receive the services they are used to,” he said.
“This will certainly be the case provided residents contact and use the Council facilities in the district where they live.
“This applies whether you are paying a bill, reporting a fault, making an enquiry or lodging a form or application.
“Over time the new Council will begin to streamline services where practicable across the new region.”
Cr Sutherland said determining your district was an easy process.
“The three districts in the new Moreton Bay Regional Council area – Caboolture, Pine Rivers and Redcliffe – will operate according to the boundaries of the three existing Councils,” he said.
