The Future of ABC in Dayboro

Just over 12 months ago the ABC Learning Centre at Dayboro opened its doors.
Now the future appears unclear – Not because of anything that has happened here at Dayboro, but because of the financial situation with the ABC Learning Centre business nationwide.
As at the time of going to print, the liquidators had not indicated as to whether or not the Dayboro centre would continue trading under the ABC banner in 2009.
A meeting with Jeff Mitchell has brought forth an assurance that a childcare centre will be operating at these premises in 2009.
“By hook or by crook they will be trading!” says Jeff Mitchell.

Jeff and his brother, Ian, own the land and the building, which they currently lease to ABC.
The Mitchell brothers would prefer to have the centre continue to be run by ABC Learning, but are adamant that this facility will continue to provide much needed additional child care places for our growing community. Should it be necessary, they are prepared to bring in another child care operator to run the facility.
So, parents of Dayboro bubs, toddlers, tots and pre-schoolers, feel confident in making the decision to book your child in here for 2009.
The building was purpose-built to meet ABC’s requirements and, when I looked through the centre recently, I was definitely envious of the lovely air-conditioned premises that the staff and children were enjoying. It was a particularly hot day . . . and summer hadn’t actually begun yet!
