SHAFT Program for School Holidays Sept09

To be or not to be bored these holidays….

Moreton Bay Regional Council’s SHAFT program could uncover a junior Shakespeare through fun activities like Play Baking (scriptwriting) and Act-ivate (analysing scripts), these Spring school holidays.
SHAFT stands for Super Holiday Activities For Teenagers.
Mayor Allan Sutherland said young people could learn everything from activating their funny bones – by creating comic characters – to decorating thongs at SHAFT.
Young people can have access to fun activities for between $5 and $10 so SHAFT is very affordable for parents.
DON’T MISS OUT!  REGISTER NOW!  That is the heads-up for local students from Year 8 to Year 12.
“With the warmer weather arriving earlier than usual, new activities like Stand up Paddle Boarding are expected to be booked out quickly,” Mayor Sutherland said.
“I’m told it’s a very exhilarating core fitness workout and includes expert tuition on safe paddling, catching waves and the best turning techniques.
“And as an added incentive to get involved these school holidays, students will go into the draw to win a Super Mario Nintendo DS Lite Pack when they fill out a quick survey on the SHAFT activity they took part in.”
SHAFT Registrations close on Friday September 11 at 5pm for activities from September 21 to October 2.
