ARTIST OF THE MONTH – September 2012
JANE ZADOW
Jane is a realist painter and these are her thoughts on her art: “ All through my life the new sights of Nature made me rejoice like a child ”

Inspiration comes from Nature and the world around me.
It may be a human figure or the soft light on a deeply lined face,
Or flowers, the smell and shape of a freshly opened rose,
It may be in animals of all description, from beloved pets to
the wild and free….. birds of the air and water,
The weather, clouds, colours of the seasons…… and I find inspiration in the ever changing landscape.

In the last 12 months I have been concentrating on landscape, specifically:
“Light in the Landscape ”……Land, Sea and Sky..
Always I am totally engrossed, intellectually and emotionally challenged each time I create with pastels or paint in my studio or outdoors.
The actually physical making of marks, my development of the composition, form, colour and light are an emotional journey that is always apart of me, long after the work has been sold
. . . . or put away in the cupboard unframed….
. . . . . painting is a part of my soul.
