Sept2011_OLD MILL VET SURGERY

PET OF THE MONTH

Having a runny nose in winter isn’t just something humans have to deal with. Kazam, a thoroughbred gelding, had to spend a few days at the Old Mill Vet due to having a very snotty nose.
After taking a number of x-rays of Kazam’s head, it was discovered that there was an infection and a cyst in Kazam’s sinuses.  Kazam needed a sinus trephination, a surgery where a hole is made just over the sinus in his head to remove the cyst and release the build up of pressure.  After special post surgical care from the Old Mill Vet and lots of love from his dedicated owners, Kazam was feeling much better just days after his surgery and will soon be back to normal.
