Sept10 TENNIS FAMILY DAY A SUCCESS

Dayboro Tennis Family Day – What a Success!!
Hip Hip Hooray. Dayboro Tennis Club is back in action. Thank you to all those who could attend.  We had a successful Family Social Day on Saturday 17th July.
The enthusiasm on the courts from both young and old was fantastic as  Matchpoint kept both courts in action. Children were grouped in different activities learning varied skills whilst having fun at the same time.  The adults were probably the loudest, enjoying a fast paced game of round robin.  Thank you to the children for showing great interest.  Despite their exhaustion they were still able to run the sausage sizzle selling sausages, chips and drinks during the break between games.  Thank you very much for the generosity of Scott Heathwood, at the Dayboro Butchery, for the sausages at the BBQ – always a winning attraction.  His continued support is appreciated.
Steve Falconer won the adult tennis racquet and Henry Pole (age 8) won the Junior racquet, kindly donated by Greg Smith of Matchpoint.
We are proud to announce our new Dayboro Tennis Club Committee as President Michael Pokarier, Vice President Caroline Oertel, Treasurer Steve Falconer, Secretary Alison Pokarier, Grounds control Sally Morrison & Graham Rose, and Community Liaison Officer Lizzie Matthews.  The committee welcomes any new members who come and join, restoring our great Tennis club.  We look forward to improving and updating our facilities, offering social junior competitions and providing a safe, active and enjoyable place to be for all the family.
Our local courts are the perfect place for entertaining. They provide toilets, playgrounds, free BBQ, basic kitchen and a place to sit and relax. Dayboro State School has proudly donated a large classroom blackboard.  Bring along some chalk and allow your creative talent to grow while watching others play.
Please come down with friends and family, have a sausage sizzle, brush the cobwebs off the racquets and hit the ball with the kids. Our courts are the perfect opportunity for Mums to bring down their toddlers, be social, have lessons, be active and watch the children in a safe environment.  Perhaps organize a ladies tennis morning or afternoon with the toddlers, a great playgroup opportunity.
