All horse owners are probably familiar with fence injuries, but when Zara, the standardbred mare got tangled in wire, the extent of her injuries was surprising.
With only a few external wounds, the internal damage was significant, as it became obvious she had torn a major ligament in her hindleg. Zara is now facing months of recovery with special shoeing and extra care, and will need to stay at the Old Mill until the injury is fully healed.
