RALLY FOR THE VALLEY GREAT ADVENTURE WALK

What better way to spend a Sunday than getting your walking shoes on and joining the Rally for the Valley Great Adventure Walk.  Well, on Sunday 2nd  March you can breathe in the fresh air while simultaneously raising funds for your favourite charity, community group or team at the Rally for the Valley Great Adventure Walk which will be held at beautiful Baden Powell Park, Cash Avenue, Samford.

Participants of this philanthropic event will also be supporting three other deserving local services: the Samford Rural Fire Brigade, the Pine Rivers State Emergency Service and the Secondary School Development Project at the Samford Valley Steiner School.

To raise funds for your particular group, registered members simply need to gain sponsorship per kilometre prior to the five-kilometre or ten-kilometre walk and set their sponsorship target according to the Incentive Level Prize Pool (listed on www.rallyforthevalley.com).  This generous guaranteed prize pool offers participants who raise $50 an indoor rock climbing pass (among other options), while those who raise $275 can win an exhilarating one-hour Harley Davidson bike ride. Sponsorship totaling $725 entitles the fundraiser to an Australia Zoo Gold Annual Pass (child). And other fabulous prizes, such as a Spirit House Thai Cooking Class, six-week abseiling course and a Story Bridge Adventure Climb, are also up for grabs. 

Alternatively, the group may choose one of the Team Incentives, which include teams of four who raise $1,600 can take the tigers at Australia Zoo for a walk and spend the day at the zoo; while teams of three who raise $2,000 are entitled to a Balinese Spa Retreat Package. A team of two adults who raises $2,000 will win an Air Combat Flight where you experience up to six times the force of gravity during an incredible 30-minute trip.

Additional great prizes – such as a solo sailing adventure for two adults – can also be won by participants who correctly answer the Rally Quiz Questions located around the courses. Furthermore, the Rally for the Valley Art Union is currently selling tickets for a raffle boasting $7,000 worth of adventure prizes!

If walking is not your thing, there is still a great family fun day in store from 10.30am at Samford’s Baden Powell Park, featuring a visit from The Australia Zoo Croc Cruiser Team and a free concert with local and international artists.

A sausage sizzle, bungee trampoline, rock climbing wall, Centre of Gravity Catapult and plenty of craft stalls are sure to keep children entertained all day.

When: Sunday March 2 at 9am for 10km walk and 9.30am for 5km walk.

Benefits for participating charities/groups: 

Charities are refunded 50 per cent of funds raised by their per kilometre sponsorship.

Schools, sporting and service clubs are refunded 20 per cent of funds raised by their per kilometre sponsorship, plus claim guaranteed individual or team adventures.
