Oct2014_DAYBORO COMMUNITY GALLERY NEWS
Dayboro Art Gallery is a co-operative gallery with over thirty members. Each month, one wall of the Gallery is devoted to our Artist of the Month.
In October we feature the works of Gillian Killick. Through the use of colour and subject matter, Gillian aims to produce vibrant, uplifting works, with an emphasis on natures beauty.
From her studio in Laceys Creek, she draws influence from bush surrounds, and is delighted when able to convey this joy of nature to others through her painting. Her preferred medium is oil paint on canvas, but also works with pastels, textile and silk screen printing, collage, paper mache, clay and photography.
Gillian has held a lifelong interest in colour and design. Upon leaving school she embarked on Fine Arts studies at the National Art School in Sydney. This led to becoming an Accredited Interior Designer, with her own professional studio, and a lifelong member of the Interior Design Society of Australia.
Her artistic proficiency has been built upon through attending tutored workshops, and gaining Certificate and Diploma Qualifications. She has also been involved teaching children art, and assisting them to enjoy the experience of visiting Art Galleries. Her works are exhibited locally and interstate.
We look forward to seeing you at the gallery, open each day, 10.00am til 3pm.
