On Saturday morning the First of September the Premier screening of a DVD called “ Tools On the Wall” was held at Samford Museum.
Two years ago The Museum received a grant to make a DVD showing how the old Timber Tools we have on display were used in the Pioneering days.  We are fortunate to have been able to capture the old skills on Camera before they are lost forever .
Dale Shuttleworth, our local State Member, spoke and presented copies of the DVD to each Demonstrator of the different skills featured .
The initial screening was a great success to a large audience, followed by a big morning tea, usual Museum fare of freshly baked scones and pikelets with lashings of freshly whipped pure cream and homemade jam.  Just the way Grandma did.
The Museum would like to thank all the individuals who helped us secure the RADF Grant to fund the making of such a DVD.  RADF (Regional Arts Development Fund) is a partnership between the State Government and the MBRC (Moreton Bay Regional Council).
At present we are able to give live demonstrations of some of the Timber skills i.e. Shingle Splitting;  Adze;  Crosscut Saw;  Broad Axe etc. for the School Groups and any other Group that asks for them.
