Oct2011_NEW SAMFORD AND SURROUNDING AREAS ARTISTS REGISTER
CALLING ALL ARTISTS!
The VIVA community group is “think tanking” forward planning for the development of the arts in Samford and surrounding areas. As a beginning part of this process we are eager to compile a list of artists from Samford and surrounds.
If you are an artist that lives in Samford, Mt Glorious, Mt Nebo, Dayboro, Mt Pleasant, Mt Mee or Ocean View (and places in between of course!) and you would like to be part of this register can you please email me, Wendy Bailye, at wendy@wendybailye.com with VIVA ARTS REGISTER in the subject heading. Please include the details needed to register listed below. As I am away for a few weeks please expect replies to any queries after the 8th October. We would like all responses by the Monday 10th October 2011 – or as soon as possible after this date.
Part of our shared vision is to showcase the arts in our area and this is the first starting point to do so. The arts make up so much of the fabric of our Samford community. We feel as a group that the arts are quite fragmented in our area and that a register could be a beginning point to get some cohesiveness and direction happening.
We expect this register will be a starting point to ascertain how many artists are in the area, what their talents and interests are and also if they have studios that may be able to be part of a possible artist’s trail (real and possibly virtual!) through the area. Please consider being part of this great initiative and really having a say in what happens within the arts in your local area. If you know someone who is a practising artist in our area please tell them about the register. If you are a part of an arts group in Samford please circulate a copy of this request to members.
Details to register:
Full Name
Phone number
Address
Area of Artistic Practice(painting, textiles etc)
Studio/gallery space on site(YES/NO)
Email Address

Any ideas for the development of the arts in our area?
Are you interested in being part of our group?
