Linda Bainbridge and Greg Brown began planting Greenwood in late 1995, transforming a bare 2 acre plot with trees including Moreton Bay Blackbean, Queensland Kauri, Queensland Maple, Cudgerie and Crows Ash. Dianella, liriope and lomandra have been mass planted to create gardens under the trees. Camellias have flourished, and are a magnificent display in autumn and winter. Magnolias, liquid ambers and other deciduous trees have been grouped together for autumn display.
Palms planted near the water course provide shade for gingers, cordylines, heliconia, crows nests and ferns. Pathways of river spalls meander between various garden spaces.
Wisteria, planted at the corner gateway leading to the South Pine river, is supported by a pergola built from hardwood sourced from a Camp Mountain timber mill. The pergola inspires a Japanese theme to the plantings of Japanese maple, various bamboo, irises and liriope. Hundreds of hippeastrums, jonquils and other bulbs have been planted and, after rain, pink, yellow and white rain lilies magically appear to line garden paths. Purple agapanthus frames the side gardens in October/November.
