Nov2011_Letter to Editor
Dear Editor,
Has the RACQ lost its mind? In mid-October, I called the RACQ for roadside assistance from our home address in Samsonvale (half way between Samford and Dayboro). After one hour I received a call to say that the patrol, which had been dispatched from Kilcoy an hour earlier (!!!!), was still half an hour away.
The Samford Garage is no longer a RACQ contractor and some bright spark has decided that Samsonvale now falls under the Kilcoy area!!!! Kilcoy is 1.5 hours drive away and yet the northern suburbs (Warner, Brendale, Albany Creek, Ferny Grove, Arana Hills) are only 15 minutes drive away. The environmental, logistical, organisational and customer care implications of this decision decry belief. What role does common sense play in making these decisions?
The RACQ tell me that all suburbs north of Winn Road now fall under Kilcoy for roadside assistance. If you are affected and would like to tell them what you think of their decision, you can email them. Go to www.racq.com.au, Under "Membership"/"My RACQ" there is a feedback option.
Rebecca Robertson.
