DINGOES
Firstly, THANK YOU to all those people who rang to let me know that they too were experiencing dingo/wild dog problems. Some of the reports I heard gave me goose bumps – an old family pet attacked whilst slowly walking behind their owner (albeit some way behind) and dogs (of reasonable size i.e. not ‘toys’) attacked on their home doorstep!! Giving an insight into the cyclic nature of this problem is an article from a professional dogger, Andrew Donaldson – see DINGOES – WILD DOGS.

I also encourage residents to check out the available information on Council’s website. Go to www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au From their home page, click on the tab, “Living”. Select “Animal Ownership” then “Wild Dogs”. If you wish to discuss your problem with Council then ring 3480 6666 (Or 5420 0100 for Mt Mee folk who come under the banner of Caboolture district.).
BINGO
Remember that Thursday is BINGO DAY. Head on up to the Dayboro Scout Hall, ready for eyes down at 10.30am. They are fundraising for a great cause – The 3 Venturers in Dayboro’s Scout Group are keen to attend “Venture in WA” which will be held in January 2009 – in Western Australia, of course. That’s a long way to go and not cheap! So come along to enjoy yourselves at BINGO, which includes 2 JACKPOT calls, and help these youngsters achieve their goal.
DAYBORO DAY
Well wasn’t it an absolutely magic day. Glorious sunshine, no chilly breezes – real jeans and t-shirt weather!! This meshed well with the relaxed festival feel of the day. Thanks go to the organising committee and their many helpers who worked so hard to achieve this atmosphere. Mark and Maria Hansen- legends! Maria’s organisation and drive, with Mark’s calm, capable demeanour – what a team?!! More on this next month.
