May2013_We Score in Funding Round
Member for Pine Rivers, Seath Holswich MP and Member for Kallangur, Trevor Ruthenberg MP have welcomed the allocation of $166,082.38 for 6 local community groups from State Government funding.
Millions of dollars have been provided across Queensland through the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF).
Amongst the 5 organisations within the Pine Rivers electorate to receive funding in this round was our very own Show Society – i.e. Dayboro Agricultural Horticultural and Industrial Association – who received $30,550 to renovate a community use building.:
Mr Ruthenberg commented that organisations such as these contributed greatly to the wider community and it was fantastic to be able to support them financially.
The funds ensure that these non-for-profit organisations are able to provide ongoing facilities and activities to the benefit of our local area and local residents.
Mr Holswich said “The Newman Government recognises and supports the valuable work being done by community organisations and the vital contribution they make to Queensland.
“These grants are designed for approved not-for-profit organisations and are not intended to replace existing sources of support for these organisations.”
