May2011_ROTARY DINNER IN DAYBORO
On March 29th the Pine Rivers Rotary Club hosted a dinner in Dayboro at the Uniting Church.
On March 29th the Pine Rivers Rotary Club hosted a dinner in Dayboro at the Uniting Church. It was the first only-Rotary meeting that the club has held in Dayboro, and they are looking at making it an annual fundraising event.
Via this dinner the Pine Rivers Rotary Club raised $1450 to go towards the victims of the recent floods in our district. This goes on top of the $2000 dollar donation they gave on the night of the Flood and Fire appeal.
A presentation was made to the Dayboro Little Athletics Club via a giant cheque for $3000. Jane Hargreaves accepted the cheque on behalf of Dayboro Little Athletics, from Pine Rivers Rotary President, Allan Stevenson. The Rotary Club are also trying to organise some more gear through sponsorship from sporting companies.
In total they have given $5500 towards the Dayboro Community within just 2 months . . . as well as the $1450 raised via the Dinner.
