May2011_NEW TWIST WITH PUPPET MAN AT DAYBORO DAY FESTIVAL
Sunday, May 29th 2011. Famed Eumundi Markets Icon and long time street performer Alexis Sawford is bringing his unique and entertaining show to Dayboro day this year, with a new twist.
Known for mutt-ley versions of known songs and comical lyrics from a dogs perspective, interspersed with vaudeville and slapstick humour, the show speaks of years of seasoned street experience. The brash puppets have introduced a new mix of songs and theme tunes accompanied by live beat-boxing, and amazing vocal performances layered together and recorded on the spot, live.
Alexis Sawford..known by many as the street-puppet man, began his career in Adelaide and has underpinned his show with his vocal range, and guitar skills, and his footwork – animating several large puppets at once via fishing line and rope, making his show a bewildering mish mash of theatre, puppetry, circus clown and jugglery, musician and singer.
Kids adults teenagers and grandparents will all find something to entertain and fascinate them watching the street-puppet man, with versions of Harry Belefonte Classics, snoop dog hip hop and beat-boxing.
