May 2010 . . . LAVENDER FOR LEUKAEMIA APPEAL
During the month of May, purchase Lavender products at CUA and participating businesses and help the Leukaemia Foundation assist patients living with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. For more information call 1800 620 420.
The soothing scent and shades of lavender will be available to all throughout May as the Leukaemia Foundation holds its annual Lavender for leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma appeal.
Loads of lovely lavender products will be available in shopping centres, CUA branches and selected businesses throughout May with the proceeds to benefit patients and their families living with blood cancer.
The fragrant lavender flower was chosen as it symbolises healing, cleansing and longevity. The lavender themed merchandise will include fluffy teddy bears, pens, pot pourri, bookmarks and soaps.
The Leukaemia Foundation hopes to raise $150,000 through this appeal to fund further research and practical support services for patients and their families that will ease the emotional and financial burdens that come with a blood cancer diagnosis.
Just a few spare dollars will help the Leukaemia Foundation achieve its Vision to Cure and Mission to Care.
As a not for profit organisation, the Leukaemia Foundation relies on regular fundraisers as well as the generous support of individuals, community organisations and businesses.
