Mar2011 GRATEFUL – AND PROUD – TO LIVE IN DAYBORO

Assistance given from wonderful people 11.01.11 to 12.01.11
Hi my name is Des Seymour,

On the 11.01.11 I was at work unaware of catastrophic events that were to unfold on that day in Dayboro.
My wife Chris and my son Ben were to experience a traumatic event as our house was inundated with storm water in a very short period of time.
Assistance arrived from over the back fence, Selwyn Barr from the top of the hill.  People I don’t even know arrived to help save as much as possible.  (I am bloody terrible on remembering names.)
There are so many people I wish to sincerely thank for the effort they put in to help in any way they could.  On the twelfth of the first I was inspecting the damage when a bloke I know arrived on a pushbike and said “I’ll be back.”
This started an avalanche of people and equipment including a tandem tipper, a gurney, a tractor with a spray unit on the back, a small tipper, and a backhoe.
People came from everywhere.  I can only thank these people from deep down as most of them I do not know by name. Even after we had cleaned out the house we were given food and accommodation.  I could go on and on.
I am proud to live in Dayboro as the people are special and they gave of their efforts and time with a smile on their faces.  On behalf of my family and to the people of Dayboro I thank you.
Des ,Chris, Ben and Teneath.
