A DAY IN THE LIFE OF…
This month I will be commencing spending “a day in the life of” a section of our community each quarter. This month I will be spending a day with a carer of someone with an acquired brain injury. The aim of these days is to give me an opportunity to gain a firsthand understanding of the issues and challenges experienced by different people in our community. If you have a suggested “day in the life of” for me, please email me at pine.rivers@parliament.qld.gov.au
MOBILE OFFICES
I am continuing to hold Mobile Offices throughout the electorate each month. Thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat at my Dayboro and Kobble Creek Mobile Offices during May. My next Mobile Office in the Grapevine distribution area will be my stall at the Dayboro Show from 6th to 8th July.
MARQUEES FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS & EVENTS
My office has purchased two marquees (6m x 3m and 3m x 3m). These marquees are available for hire, free of charge, for local community groups to use for your events. There are photos of the marquees on my Facebook page (facebook.com/SeathHolswichMP). If you would like to apply to hire one or both of the marquees, please email me at pine.rivers@parliament.qld.gov.au
AJ WYLLIE BRIDGE UPDATE
The AJ Wyllie Bridge reconstruction is still on schedule to be completed by late 2012. During May the temporary pedestrian and cyclist bridge and traffic lights were installed. This means that all public access has now been removed from the northbound bridge and demolition work has now commenced.
