June2011_LAVENDER FOR LEUKAEMIA APPEAL

Purchasing a little lavender bear will go a long way towards helping leukaemia patients.  The Leukaemia Foundation’s Lavender for leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma appeal is on throughout June.
There is a selection of lavender themed merchandise available at all CUA branches, Fernwood, Fitness First, Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology, QML Pathology, other participating businesses and various shopping centres.
The fragrant lavender flower was chosen as it symbolises healing, cleansing and longevity.  The lavender themed merchandise will include fluffy teddy bears, pens, pot pourri, bookmark and soaps.
The Leukaemia Foundation hopes to raise $200,000 through this appeal to fund further medical research and practical support services for patients and their families designed to ease the emotional and financial burdens that come with a blood cancer diagnosis.
Just a few spare dollars will help the Leukaemia Foundation achieve its Vision to Cure and Mission to Care.
As a not-for-profit organisation, the Leukaemia Foundation relies on regular fundraisers as well as the generous support of individuals, community organisations and businesses.
