Dayboro & District Rural Fire Brigade
Residents may notice smoke in the air over the coming weeks as firefighters prepare for this fire season.  There are a number of ways to reduce fuel load and often the most effective course of action is to burn the fuel in a controlled fire.  This is known as fuel reduction, controlled burning or a hazard reduction burn.  Hazard reduction burns are a vital component of bushfire season preparations to keep the community safe.
You can check if current incidents are a ‘controlled burn’ at ruralfire.qld.gov.au and/or www.fire.qld.gov.au
We are reminding residents that it’s their responsibility to ensure their homes and families are bushfire prepared.
the Wardens’ Word
Permit conditions must be adhered to in full.
The responsibility for ‘containing’ a permitted burn lies with the landholder.
