Last year’s award winners, Sue and Ian Flinders, presented the Resident of the Year Award to George Thompson, sharing the stage with Bob Millar who announced the award.

George Thompson is a very hands-on person and this has been to the benefit or organizations in which he has been involved.  Dayboro State School benefited from George’s participation in Working Bees including the path at the front of the school and picnic tables.  George was active on the Dayboro State School P & C serving as Secretary, Vice President and President.  Dayboro Show Society has been – and still is – benefiting from George’s dedication and drive as they gear up for their 60th annual show and also the renovation work on the ‘old’ vet building.  He has been President since 2010, Vice president prior to this and also contributing as a kitchen worker over the years.
Congratulations George Thompson.  Well done.
