July2014_PINE RIVERS STATE HIGH SCHOOL IS TURNING 50
Pine Rivers State High School has been a popular choice for secondary schooling for hundreds of Dayboro children over the years. This year marks a special anniversary for the school as it celebrates its 50th birthday. Past and present students, prospective students and parents and the general community are encouraged to join the festivities being held from 1 – 3 August – check out the website www.pineriversshs.eq.edu.au for further details.
Just a little taste of what is happening:
Friday 1st August at 7pm: “Hot Jazz & Cool Nights” – An exciting big band sound featuring the internationally acclaimed musicians Andy Firth and Michael-John Hurney.

Saturday 2nd August: School Expo and ‘Back to the Pine’ event – Includes guided tours, formal ceremony and opening of the time capsule.
Sunday 3rd August from 11am-3pm: “Picnic at the Pine”.
Includes guided tours, past student bands and deposit of time capsule.

Did you know that the P&C Association operate a Community Education Program at the school with all funds raised going back to the school. Term 3 classes can be found on the website www.pineriverscomed.com.a u or by phoning the Coordinator on 0432 116 973. A wide variety of affordable classes are on offer including computer skills, arts/crafts/hobbies, languages, fitness/tai chi and personal development. Check it out!
