July2014_DAYBORO TRAILRIDERS

Oh what a beautiful morning
Oh what a beautiful day
I have a wonderful feeling
Everything’s going our way.

We all gathered around the pony club and were under way at 9.20am.
No incidents on the long way to the back of the hotel.
We patiently waited our turn to take our place at the rear of the parade.
On Chris Giles command, off we went, Peter Norris carrying the club banner out in front with Kayleen next carrying a flag, followed by Jonathan with the Australian flag. Then three in line Peter, John and I carrying the Union Jack, American and Queensland flags.
26 riders and 3 walkers.  What a great sight with our new saddle cloths and neckerchiefs – very professional.
Thousands of people lined both sides of the street.  They were clapping loudly and the commentator had kind words to say about us.
Ken Chater at 84 years old rode with his great granddaughter who is 4 years old.
A ride, a day, a time to remember.
The parade was a great effort.  Well done.
Graham.
