MONEY FOR LOCAL NOT-FOR-PROFIT GROUPS
If you are thinking about applying for a grant for a project that your group is considering, check out Council’s website:
www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au
Under the “Living” tab click on “Grants and Funding. As well as the Council’s Community Grants Program, Regional Arts Development Fund and The Don Perrin Environmental Bursary, they also have links to State and Federal government grants, including the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF).
I’m sure fundraisers will agree that the grants received effectively replace a lots of chook raffles and sausage sizzles. Complete all the necessary paperwork to get in for your group’s share!!
The Lions Club of Dayboro recently received a grant of $1,500 through the Queensland Government’s Caring for our Community grants program.
The Dayboro Bowls Club was the recipient of a grant of $30,300 from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) – another Queensland Government distribution. The GCBF receives money from taxes on Golden Casket lotteries, wagering, keno and gaming machines. It distributes these funds to not-for-profit community groups on a quarterly basis (closing 28 February, 31 May, 31 August and 30 November).
Another Dayboro based community organisation has scored in the second round of Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Community Grants Program for 2012/13 – with the Dayboro Soccer Club being successful in obtaining $10,380 for the installation of grandstand seating.
