We’ve Got It All in the Moreton Bay region – including the 2011 World Waterski Racing Championships.
Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor, Allan Sutherland said council would be the 2011 naming rights sponsor for the championships to be held at Redcliffe’s Pelican Park from September 10 to 18.
“The sponsorship deal for the 2011 World Waterski Racing Championships is a fantastic opportunity to bring national exposure and tourists to the Moreton Bay region,” Mayor Sutherland said.
“It comes hot on the heels of the launch of We’ve Got It All; the Moreton Bay region’s new marketing identity and our South East Queensland television advertising campaign.
“The 2011 World Waterski Racing Championships will kick off nine days of power boat action in the Moreton Bay region with the final day of the championships coinciding with the Celebrate Redcliffe Festival and the Australian Superboat Grand Prix.”
Division Six councillor, Rae Frawley said the World Waterski Racing Championships were expected to attract up to 15,000 visitors to the Moreton Bay region.
“Not only is the event an excellent vehicle for boosting our young region’s profile, it also delivers a major economic benefit for local business,” Cr Frawley said.
“There’ll be up to 350 of the world’s best racers on skis generating around $10 million for the local economy on top of the Celebrate Redcliffe Festival.
I’m so excited, I can hardly wait for September.”
Moreton Bay Regional Council has committed $50,000 to become the naming rights sponsor for the 2011 World Waterski Racing Championships.
“It’s a new event on the region’s events calendar for 2011 and it really does demonstrate We’ve Got It All in the Moreton Bay region,” Mayor Sutherland said.
