July2011_MUSEUM PUZZLES THE MIND
Puzzles have been popular for hundreds of years and you’ll find out why after experiencing the latest exhibition at the Pine Rivers Heritage Museum.
Named Puzzles, the Pine Rivers Heritage Museum exhibition includes a kaleidoscope of gadgets and games designed to stimulate and entertain the brain.
Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor, Allan Sutherland, said the hands-on exhibition was designed to appeal to all age groups and had been created with the school holidays in mind.
“It’s mind boggling to think that some of the puzzles in the exhibition have been entertaining people for more than a hundred years and they’re still as popular as ever,” the Mayor said.
“Others like the Rubics Cube have not only defined an era but also tested the logic and ingenuity of subsequent generations.
From puzzles for clever minds to those that challenge physical dexterity, this is an entertaining and interactive exhibition with something for everyone.
I’m inviting people to put themselves to the test and have some good old fashioned fun.”
Puzzles runs until August 28 at the Pine Rivers Heritage Museum, Old Petrie Town, Dayboro Road, Whiteside.
The museum is open the following hours:
Wednesday to Friday between 10am and 3pm; and
Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm.

“There’s never been a better time than these school holidays to discover the Pine Rivers Heritage Museum,” Mayor Sutherland said.
