July2011_DAYBORO VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE

There seems to have been quite a lot of visitors to the Dayboro Visitor Information Centre (Dayboro VIC) over the past couple of months but I have not actually had a chance to do the comparisons with 2010 as yet.
VIC – the accepted abbreviation for Visitor Information Centre.  I really have a bit of a problem with the current trend of referring to things by their initials.  I look at this one and immediately think of the State of Victoria and that we have somehow moved Dayboro into that State.   Not good from a tourism point of view.
NEW EATING ESTABLISHMENTS:
Dayboro Day (Sunday 29th May) saw the opening of two new eating places in Dayboro –
La Voche Café and 3B Genuine Bar-B-Q, both in Williams Street.   La Voche Café is open from 8am to 3pm Wednesday to Friday and from 7.30am to 4pm Saturday & Sunday serving contemporary Australian cuisine for breakfast and lunch.  3B Genuine Bar-B-Q is open from 12 midday to 7pm Saturday and Sunday.
We are not short of places to dine out in Dayboro and they are quite varied, not forgetting the meals on alternate Friday nights at the Dayboro Bowls Club and the Dayboro Footy Club.
A DAY TRIP TO DAYBORO:
We have had some good feedback about this flyer with some of the visitors to “Dayboro Cottage” saying they have seen it online and that is why they have visited Dayboro.  We have also had some other visitors who have actually picked up a copy of the flyer from another VIC (Visitor Information Centre) in our Council area.  Karen from Maya Maze has told me that she has seen a number of people walking around with a copy of our Historical Town Walk Brochure in their hand.  Our marketing seems to be working so Remember Dayboro– Shop locally.  For a long time, Dayboro Produce & Hardware have had a sign at their exit thanking people for shopping locally.
LOCAL MAPS:
All the artwork has been done for the Town and Regional Maps being produced by the Dayboro District Historical Society and they should be completed within the next week or so.
FORTHCOMING EVENTS:
Remember to check the Events Calendar on www.dayborovalley.com.au before setting the date for an event you may be planning to ensure it does not clash with something else.  It is just a matter of checking the calendar and then forwarding an email to have your event included on the Events Calendar.  For some reason, very few people seem to be taking advantage of this free service.
