July 2010 PROBUS OUTING
Samford gardens should be more colourful shortly. The members of the Probus Club of Samford Valley returned from a visit to Pohlmans Nursery at Gatton laden with new plants to add to their gardens.
The nursery, which was established in 1976, covers 120 acres and employs between 90 and 150 staff. Members enjoyed the morning tea provided and then had an informative tour of the grounds in the Gum Tree Valley Express.
Eric, from the Scorpion Bus Company, delighted members by taking the "scenic tour" to Ipswich where they lunched at the Brothers League Club before returning home.
Pohlmans had donated several plants and these were used as prizes for guessing the distance travelled for the trip. Sue Rossi was closest with Ouida Reichel coming second.
If you feel Probus might be the club for you please contact the secretary Terri Crawford on Ph. 3289 2440.
