WHAT IS DR SLADE WALKER UP TO NOW?
He has opened a second outlet for Old Mill Pet and Livestock Supplies at Kallangur.
Andrew commenced trading there on 16th of February, as manager for Slade and Annika. This new outlet is open seven days.

Yes, Jen now works Sundays! But at the new store "in town".
The new store is KALLANGUR PET & LIVESTOCK SUPPLIES and the address is 1264 ANZAC AVE , KALLANGUR (previously the Kallangur Produce building) and the phone number is 3285 1010.
A produce has traded on this site for around sixty years, so Andrew in particular wanted to see this tradition continued by people with an active interest in the local community and animal care. (He also handles fuel sales at Red Dog Petroleum next door on Tuesday nights, so he is a semi-local!)
Within the next month, along with everything you expect in a supplies store, there will be a DIY hydrobath and point of lay chicken sales available and a delivery service for both businesses.
The idea of the second outlet is to improve purchase power, be within the metro delivery area (which everyone who has tried to order something for delivery in Dayboro would relate to) and ultimately, expand the stock range and competitive pricing for the Dayboro and Kallangur communities and Slade’s client base.
For the last twelve months Jen has run the Pet & Livestock Supplies at Mt. Mee Rd as a fairly basic setup mainly to provide Slade’s clients with quality products that compliment the service he provides. While this has been achieved, customer numbers has meant only covering basic running costs on a rent free basis and the range of stock being limited to products available for delivery to our "far flung" town at a semi- reasonable price. This new venture is to expand this initial concept into a fully fledged retail business.
At Old Mill on Mt Mee Rd, just 500m from the swimming pool, the happy customers are the reason Jen comes to work everyday. Since January though, there has been some negative feedback regarding prices and availability of horse feed in particular.
Both owners and management wanted to take this opportunity to let everyone know that currently purchase quantities and the delivery charges are the determining factors in the price paid to get stock. These costs and basic running costs are then dictating the selling price. The opportunity to open the second store was largely aimed at addressing these issues, reaching more of Slade’s clients with supplies and creating a bigger customer base for a successful business that ultimately supports us financially. Its that simple!
A huge amount of positive encouragement and a warm welcome has been shown by customers at the new store and now Dayboro customers know where to find the same personal style of Old Mill service if they are out and about, on the way home from work, or foraging for produce, pet supplies or even garden products, (yes, Andrew talked Jen into selling them as well) any day of the week -even Sunday!
