Moreton Bay Regional Council is partnering with the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) to encourage local residents to apply for work as census field staff.
Council is hosting a series of free workshops in February and April which will provide information about Census 2011 employment opportunities.

The ABS employs all sorts of people to help with census data collection. This provides an opportunity for anyone looking for local work to learn new skills while being paid for it.
Attending a workshop won’t guarantee you a job, but it will give you an understanding of what the ABS is looking for from potential area supervisors and collectors, and whether there is work that will suit you.”
National Census night will be Tuesday, August 9, and will provide work for 43,000 people across Australia.
